
The NCURA Region III Recognition & Nominations Committee is pleased to invite nominations for the Sandy Barber Volunteer Award, the Pam Whitlock Rising Star Award, the Distinguished Service Award, and the Spring Meeting Travel Award. Sandy Barber Volunteer Award
This award is given to an individual who has demonstrated an exceptional and enthusiastic commitment to volunteerism to Region III.
Nominees must:
- Be a current NCURA member in good standing
- Have performed a minimum of five (5) acts of outstanding volunteerism and customer service (virtual or in-person)
- Have not served as a Region III Executive Committee Member
Pam Whitlock Rising Star Award
This award is given to an individual in the early stages of a research administration career who has demonstrated willingness, enthusiasm, and dedication to the field of research administration and service to Region III.
Nominees should have:
- Seven (7) years or fewer as a member of Region III
- Current NCURA member in good standing
Distinguished Service Award
This award will be presented to an individual who has more than ten years of experience in research administration and has made outstanding contributions to the field of research administration.
Nominees should have:
- Ten (10) or more years as a member of Region III
- Current NCURA member in good standing
- Exemplary contributions to Region III
- Current Region III Officers (elected and appointed positions) are not eligible for nomination for this award
Spring Meeting Travel Award
This award is intended to support those new to Research Administration and NCURA or those shifting into new roles within Research Administration who, without the award, may not have the support to attend the 2025 Spring Meeting.
NCURA Region III will issue one $1,500 travel award for the 2025 Spring Meeting in Louisville, Kentucky. The awardee’s institution will receive funds to defray the cost of attending the meeting. Applications can be submitted on behalf of a member or for oneself.
Nominees must provide:
- Justification of need (including prior attendance at a national or regional meeting)
- Description of short- and long-term professional goals
- Explanation of how attending an NCURA meeting will contribute to attaining your goals
- Description of volunteer contributions to NCURA (past, current, and/or future plans)
Nominations are due by COB on February 28, 2025
