Nominee for Region III Secretary
When I started my career in research administration in 2013, I was thrilled to learn what a collegial and cooperative profession this is. Every research administrator I met seemed ready to learn, share, and help others. The NCURA community has always been a great resource for me, but when I became actively involved in Region III, I realized what a unique group of colleagues we are. Region III includes a diverse section of the country, from beaches and swamps to mountains and forests and all the institutions in between. Like our regional landscape, we are a diverse group, but Region III brings us together as colleagues and together we are a powerful resource for researchers and each other!
I have worked to give back to our profession in general and NCURA specifically by volunteering every year in some capacity. I started by participating in, then chairing, the Collaborate Pre-Award Community Working Group, helped build several resource libraries for NCURA, presented at PRA/FRA, and have enjoyed leading breakfast round table discussions at annual meetings. My recent experience as Region III’s Social Media Coordinator has truly been a delight as I was able to bring members together in new and exciting ways.
I am honored to be nominated and I look forward to the privilege of continuing to give back to Region III by serving as your next Secretary.
